Production/Arranging

Throughout education, arranging and music production always played a huge role. From recording his first song at age 11 to his final university assessments, expanding upon existing harmony and melody using musical and technological techniques has always been Sam's preferred creative outlet. Whether working with other artists to embellishing his own projects, Sam's perfectionism never falters until the envisaged sound has been accomplished. Sam has always felt that the arrangement of a piece of music is what draws him in rather than the lyrical content, and as a result he can isolate individual parts from a much larger ensemble. This skill was greatly enhanced during his time at university as transcription and audio recreation was a huge part of his course and practice routine. He would be set tasks such as transcribing the top line of a film score without any reference note or identify the processing used on a snare drum to fine tune his ears.
